
Akamuti's Organic African Black Soap is made by the women's co-operative in Togo, West Africa and is a Fair Trade product.
This black soap has been made from a traditional recipe and has a very mild aroma and amazing creamy lather. It is one of the healthiest soaps for the skin because of its pure, organic ingredients, and leaves skin incredibly supple and soft.
In Togo, where the soap is made, mothers use only this soap to wash their newborn babies. African Black soap is ideal for young and delicate skin because of it's purity and will not leave the skin dry. It is also wonderful for adult skin too and anyone with sensitive skin.
Akamuti's African Black Soap is also recommended for skin prone to acne, rashes, ring worm, measles, eczema and can also act as a natural shampoo to avoid dry and itchy scalps.
Traditionally made with 48% organic shea butter and wildcrafted virgin palm kernal oil. For the saponification process dried banana leaves ash and the bark from the local agow tree are used. Contains no chemicals, preservatives, colour enhancers or fragrances. The is black in colour because of the saponification process and is entirely free from black dye and charcoal.
Directions: Black Soap easily absorbs water, so place on a soap dish. It is softer than regular soaps, and can be easily sliced to use as a shampoo bar. Because of it's pure and natural ingredients, there may be the occasional grain or grit in it, so rub into hands first and not straight onto the body.
